TheatreCom
Van Dances to First Place
Our TheatreCom van has
won the prestigious “Best Vehicle Graphics Project” with help from our
friends at Signs Express (Peterborough).
The design brief was to produce something eye-catching that
portrayed the message that whatever the style of performance, TheatreCom
has the solution. This has been demonstrated by showing the legs of
various dancers including ballet, ballroom and tap on a stage lit
vividly by the new TheatreCom LED Stage Lights.
The competition was judged by Dave Catanach of the British Signs &
Graphics Association, and Val Hirst, editor of Sign Directions magazine.
The graphics were judged against a wide variety of vehicle graphic
projects completed by over 75 Signs Express franchises across the UK.
The judges praised the impact of the design and the depth of the
colours, all contributing to a vehicle graphic that turns heads.
Anybody at Top Hex who has driven the van will testify that it does turn
heads and this takes a while to get used to!
The effect is achieved by producing a digital print which is then
“wrapped” round the bottom half of the vehicle. The text and logo is
decal cut vinyl and applied afterwards.
The graphics were produced by Signs Express (Peterborough) and Anne
Hitch takes up the story,
“It is a great team effort – the quality of the photography, the
artistic flare of our designer and the skill of our printer have all
combined to give a really eye-catching design. When I came up with the
concept, my colleagues thought I had gone mad, but I am glad I
persisted!”
